Hotel Gallo Nero

Lovely laid back environment with beautiful gardens, friendly staff and excellent restaurant. They have gone to lengths to create small private oases, from their mid-hill location down their beautiful trail to the beach. All rooms seem to have private balconies, many with sea views. Definitely the place we were looking for to unwind, destress, and experience the culture of Elba.

what an amazing experience. my friend and I had a very lovely time in this beautiful hotel with the best staff. very polite, friendly and helpful. the view was indeed out of a story book and I couldn’t get enough of it. every morning we could check and choose from the dinner menu since they didn’t serve lunch. we could even add if we fancied something else and everything was delicious. I absolutely loved the breakfast although I wish there was a pancake option too haha. The place was so quite and relaxing that you would only hear the sound of birds, wind and waves since it’s so close to the beach. there was even a private garden path from te hotel to the beach with many beautiful plants. jacuzzi and the pool were my favorite spots! they became a daily routine for us in the morning. you could even have a massage but I didn’t get that. the rooms were decorated with taste and nice and cold since it was hot outside. 4 lovely cats were also living around. super cute and friendly. Dodino, the chubby one, was my favorite. it was one of the best weekends I’ve had in a long while. Matteo and his father were kind enough to give my friend and I from and back to the airport which is around 45 minutes. I totally recommend this hotel and will definitely go there again

I do now understand why this could be consider as a 4 star hotel instead of 3. I shall start saying that the staff was going above and beyond our expectation, in order to make our stay as more confortable as they could. They were able to provide me with an English plug converter when I forgot mine, and they were always ready to assist with information for local activities. The rooms were clean and well stock with soaps. We decided to have breakfast and dinner over there and we were not disappointed about it. Breakfast has a wide choice of food and drinks, which included also Prosecco (you never know :)). Dinner was changing every night, but rest assured that you will go to sleep with a full belly, as it comprehend 4 courses (started, main, second and dessert). We were able to use the idro pool, as you have a session for free per stay. Sadly, it was too cold to use the swimming pool and jacuzzi, but this was our fault as we have been there in October. The only unfortunate things were the noise of the wind during the night, which kept me awake and the set time for dinner that was at 8pm. The rooms have free WiFi and a well stocked fridge. I wanted to say a big thank you to Elisa, Paolo, Marco, Rita and the young guy working as a waiter during the weekend, as they made our stay particular magical. I will definetely go back, but only during summer as this seems the best time to go. Thanks again Gallo Nero, see you next time :)

Nice vacation hotel with a good view, nice garden and relaxing pool, jacuzzi and cryo bath. Went here through a reference, in the middle of the holiday period and paid around 140 for a small room without view and with very thin glass doors that constantly raddled and also woke us up. It was booked late tho, so perhaps we just got the worst last room. Also wouldn’t do the half board, we had dinner on the first night when we arrived late, and it was obvious the ingredients were rather economically chosen. No fresh fish while other restaurants offer a catch of the day. Breakfast is alright tho, with prosecco, sometimes fresh watermelon, and nice pastries. A family oriented place so probably wouldn’t go there again.
